About Paul Grosshans.
My name is Paul Grosshans. I am the owner of Big John Insurance. I decided to write this to give you a feel of who I am, and what you can expect if you decide to do business with me.
I am a man who taught elementary school for 34 years. I enjoyed it and found it a very rewarding career. When I retired I wasn’t sure what to do. I was way too young to sit in a rocking chair for the rest of my life. I didn’t want a 9-5 job or an hourly job. I wanted a job that could be as rewarding as teaching. I found insurance.
Insurance is all about protecting people from risks, the known and the unknown. Protecting people from those risks, educating them on the risks seemed like the right fit for me. An example is a short term disability plan to protect a person’s paycheck. A lot of people don’t follow Dave Ramsey or Suze Orman and have 6 months to a year’s income in savings. Missing one or two paychecks could lead to a world of financial hurt.
Or a life insurance policy that allows your loved ones to live financially worry free after you’re gone. You might never need a STD plan, but we are all going to die someday. We don’t know when, do we? We do know that it will happen.
What you should expect from me is someone who will care about your needs. I will spend as much time as you need to complete the learning curve. I will advise, and you will decide. I am NOT a traditional salesman. If after you have been informed and you don’t feel the need, I will respect your wishes. If you later change your mind I will be happy to help you.
Friday and Saturday I talked with other insurance agents about life insurance, actually I more listened than talked. We are amazed and angered at the financial hardship left to families by putting off the purchase of life insurance. As I’ve mentioned often here, 95,000,000 Americans don’t have life insurance. The story the one agent told […]Read More
FYI. I saw a post from a Facebook friend announcing their wedding. In this particular case I don’t know if there are children involved or not, but a remarriage where children are involved creates some issues. In some states when a single person with children gets married they have effectively disinherited their children. Most people […]Read More
Life’s Lessons APR 11,2015/POSTED BY BIGJOHN Most of you will ignore the picture. Of those that read it few will think about lessons they can take from it. One of the benefits of technology is the ability to find information quickly. But what good is information if we don’t know what to do with it. […]Read More

Cancer. The word scares us. For some of us we haven’t had it in our families. For others their families have been ravaged by cancer. There’s the physical scare: Can I survive it? Can I beat it? Is it someone I care for that has it? Then there’s the financial scare: Can I miss work […]Read More
